I was formerly known by my alter ego Albert Thomas, a name I took on because of PTSD related to labor trafficking and other distressing events. I’m over that PTSD, and so I’ve dropped the Pseudonym. My chains are free.
You might have seen my reviews on other sites like Tom’s Hardware, AdoredTV, and Wccftech. I was formerly a moderator on Reddit for /r/hardware, /r/intel, and /r/monitors, that’s one of the ways I entered into the tech reviewing world.
I started /r/ultrawidemasterrace, I was all about ultrawide monitors before it was cool. I’m hipster like that. I currently use LG’s 45GR95QE, but look forward to testing their higher resolution monitor coming soon. 5K Ultrawide is the dream!
What is Boring Text Reviews? It’s my project for old-fashioned text reviews without a billion intrusive, potentially privacy-invading ads. Most of the work I publish here will related to cooling CPUs, but I’ll soon be exploring other cooling related subjects. Slush machines? Computer fans? Who knows what the future may hold. It’s a new day in the world, new opportunities everywhere. I’ll probably start sending Slush machine reviews to Tom’s Guide, a sister site to Tom’s Hardware.
The first machine I’ll test? An interesting unit from Inoviva, priced at around $300 USD.

I’m only going to review Slush machines because I’m annoyed at how poorly Freezing Point LLC, aka Frazil, treated me when I was having panic attacks and flashbacks from when I suspected someone was not working of their own consent. I might have been wrong about that, but I expected better from them. I was wrong, now I’ll show them and old dog can learn new tricks.
This place is where I experiment with reviews. I started testing NVMe heatsinks here. Later I sent them to Wccftech, and eventually Tom’s Hardware saw their value. Strategic planning 101.
